DIY Baby Shower

Going to go real time today, or just a week back with a couple DIY projects. I threw a baby shower for my sister last weekend and wanted to make it extra special. I got out my Martha Stewart box and got to work.

These flags were really simple to make, you need the following items:
1. Fabric – I bought 6-7 different kinds of quilting pieces as apposed to have to buy it by the yard.
2. Ribbon
3. Glue Gun
4. Cutting Utensils
I was able to get 8-10 triangles out of each swatch, I’m sure there is a more technical term for these “swatches” but since I am more of a Bob Villa than a Martha Stewart we will leave it at that. I used a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper to cut a triangle to use as a stencil, basically practice on some scratch paper until you have the size you want and then trace it onto the fabric. I then cut a small slit in the upper corners of each triangle to thread through the ribbon, I found they all wanted to slide to the middle so that’s where a dab of hot glue on the backside will help keep them spaced nice and evenly.
I also found a great craft project instead of the awkward baby shower games, you’ve maybe done this before but being my first baby shower I thought it was pretty cute.

This is a pretty easy project for all guests, I found onsies on clearance at Target pre-washed for mommy and bought several different decorating pieces at JoAnn Fabrics, it was a lot of fun and mom to be had a great pile of onsies to bring home for her baby girls first few months.
It’s not a party without food so I’ll leave you with this punch recipe.

Pink Punch:
1 Bottle of Diet 7 Up
2 Cans of frozen pink lemonade
1 Cup of raspberry sherbet ice cream
*Mix these 3 together, put in serving bowl, etc and top with a bag of frozen raspberry’s.
